So, I was out exploring a nice little patch of greenery and happened to come across some not so friendly-looking leaves. That’s right folks, we’re talking about poison ivy. Now, for those of you who may not be familiar with the pesky plant, let me just say it’s no laughing matter.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. “But funny person, poison ivy adds such a nice touch of green to the environment!” Well, that may be true, but it’s also true that it can cause a great deal of discomfort and misery for those unlucky enough to come into contact with it. So, let’s talk about how to safely remove it.
First and foremost, protect yourself. Wear long sleeves, pants, gloves, and something to cover your face. You don’t want any of those pesky oils getting on your skin or in your lungs.
Next, dig up the plant by the roots. Yes, you heard that right. You want to remove the entire plant, roots and all, so that it doesn’t have a chance to grow back.
Dispose of the plant properly. You don’t want to just toss it in your trash bin where it could potentially spread to other areas. Instead, either burn it or bag it up and dispose of it in a landfill.

So, there you have it folks. A little lesson on safely removing poison ivy and a shoutout to some innocent ivy leaves. Go out and enjoy nature, but always remember to protect yourself and your skin. Happy exploring!
