I was browsing the internet, as one does when they are procrastinating, and stumbled upon some images of front yard hardscape ideas. Now, normally I wouldn’t care about such things, but these pictures were downright hilarious. I mean, who knew rocks and concrete could be so funny? So naturally, I had to share the joy with all of you.
First up, we have a before-and-after shot of a front yard hardscape makeover. The “before” picture is just your standard grass lawn, nothing special. But in the “after” picture, the grass has been replaced by large, flat stones. And I’m not talking about your run-of-the-mill stepping stones. These things are huge! It’s like someone took a sledgehammer to a boulder and then said, “Yup, that’ll do.” And yet, in some strange way, it kind of works. It’s like the Flintstones were brought to life and decided to settle down in the suburbs.
Next on the list, we have a front yard that looks like it belongs in a storybook. The photo is honestly stunning, with cobblestone paths winding their way through the yard, surrounded by whimsical flowers and greenery. But what caught my eye was the fact that there is a literal tower in the middle of the yard. Yes, you read that correctly – a tower. I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty sure that violates some kind of zoning regulation. Can you imagine trying to explain that to your neighbors? “Oh, yeah, we just decided to build a tower in our front yard. You know how it is.”
Last but not least, we have a photo of a front yard that has been hardscaped to perfection. The whole thing just screams “professional landscaping job”. But what I really love about this photo is the inclusion of a small pond. And when I say small, I mean it. This thing is about the size of a kiddie pool. But it’s still a pond, dammit! And it’s complete with a little waterfall and some fancy-looking rocks. I can only imagine the satisfaction the homeowner must feel every time they step outside and see their tiny pond. It’s like they have their own little slice of nature, right in their front yard.
In conclusion, I never expected to find so much humor in front yard hardscapes. But sometimes, you just have to appreciate the little things in life. Like giant rocks, towers, and miniature ponds. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll be inspired to overhaul my own front yard. But until then, I’ll just stick to admiring these ridiculous photos.
