The shiplap ceiling over our kitchen and dining room is one of my absolute favorite features of our home. It adds that perfect touch of rustic charm that we were looking for when we were renovating. The soft white finish ties in perfectly with our farmhouse style decor, and the natural wood grain gives it that extra something special.
Stunning Shiplap
When we were designing our kitchen, we knew right away that we wanted to incorporate shiplap into the ceiling. We love the way that it looks and the texture that it adds to the room. It’s such a timeless and classic look that we knew we wouldn’t regret.
The shiplap really pops against the light-colored walls and the white cabinetry. It’s a subtle feature but adds so much character to the space. It’s also a great conversation starter when guests come over! They always ask about it and compliment it. We feel so proud of our decision to include it.
A New Twist
Ever since shiplap became a popular trend, it seems like everyone is trying to incorporate it into their homes. Don’t get me wrong, we love it, but we wanted to find a way to incorporate it in a unique way that still fit our personal style. That’s when we decided to do a shiplap ceiling instead of walls.
The effect is stunning and gives the room height and depth. It’s a subtle feature that adds a lot of interest to an otherwise plain space. We are so happy with how it turned out and would highly recommend this twist on the traditional shiplap trend.
New Decor Possibilities
Before we added the shiplap ceiling, we had to be really careful about the types of decor we used in the space. We wanted to make sure that our choices didn’t clash with the existing design. But now that we have the shiplap, we have a lot more options. We’ve been able to incorporate fun patterns and bold colors without it looking too overwhelming.
We love finding unique pieces to add to our home, and the shiplap has made decorating even more fun. We also love that the shiplap is such a versatile feature. It will never go out of style and can be paired with so many different decor styles.
No More Shiplap Walls
While we love our shiplap ceiling, we’ve also decided to switch things up a bit and skip the shiplap walls. We loved the look for a while, but it started to feel a bit too trendy for our tastes. We wanted to find a way to update our decor without going completely overboard.
In place of the shiplap walls, we’ve added a bold wallpaper to one of the rooms in our home. It’s definitely outside of our comfort zone, but we love the way it looks. It adds so much visual interest to the space and ties in perfectly with our other decor choices.
Overall, we’re happy that we decided to skip the shiplap walls and focus on our stunning shiplap ceiling. It’s a feature that we know we’ll love for years to come and has inspired us to try new decor styles and ideas.
